Measuring the Existing Door

Take the following measurements for each unit you plan to replace. All you'll need is a tape measure, pad, and paper. We will come out and do all final measurements for accurate ordering.

To Measure Width:

Measure between the jambs at three points: top, middle and bottom of the current door opening. Please provide us with the smallest of these measurements.

Steps:

1. Place one end of the tape measure on the bottom left corner of the door

2. Measure the jam width from left to right

3. Repeat step 2 in the middle and the top

4. Write down your width!

To Measure Height:

From bottom to top, measure from the height of your floor to the top of the existing door opening at three points: left, middle, and right. Please provide us with the smallest of these measurements.

Steps:

1. Starting on the left, measure upward from the top of the floor to the top of the opening

2. Repeat step 1 for the middle and right side

3. Write down your height!

To Measure Jam Depth:

Steps:

1. Open the door (if possible)

2. Starting on the inside, place your tape measure where your inside trim meets your existing door frame, typically your time will be a ranch or colonial style

3. Measure to the outside and stop where your door jam meets the outside trim, this is typically the  brickmold casing

4. Write down your depth!

All door measurements are written and recorded width x height

Example: My door is 3 feet wide and 80 inches feet tall. This is written 36x80
